Folded Edge
Your canvas is stretched over the wooden frame just like a classic painting. The margins of your image will
appear on the frame sides, so ensure that crucial details of your photo don’t appear too close to the edge.
Mirrored Edge
Your photo is printed in its full glory on the front side of the canvas. The border of your photo is then
copied, inverted and reproduced on the sides of the frame, creating a mirror-image effect.
Stretched Edge
Your photo is displayed in its entirety on the front of the canvas, while the outermost pixels of your image
are stretched lengthwise along the sides of the frame, creating a motion-blur effect.
White Edge
Your photo appears in full on the front side only of the canvas print. The canvas on the sides of the frame is
printed with a strip of white that serves to highlight and intensify your image.
Black Edge

You can print a painting, drawing or digital artwork on canvas in exactly the same way as a photo — the file just needs to be a good reproduction of the original. Canvas suits artwork particularly well because the matte, textured surface reads like a painted canvas rather than a glossy print, and the folded edge design carries the image round the sides like a stretched original.
Photographing or scanning an original. A flatbed scanner at 300 dpi gives the cleanest file for anything up to A3. For a larger painting, photograph it square-on in even daylight (not direct sun), with no flash, and crop to the edges before uploading. Our editor shows the maximum canvas size your file supports: we print acceptably from 72 dpi at the finished size, so a 12-megapixel photo of a painting is enough for most formats up to 80×60 cm. What is the canvas made of?
MYPICTURE prints on 285 g/m² 100% polyester canvas with a matte coating, stretched over a real wood frame 2 cm or 4 cm deep. Consumer photo canvas across the market runs from roughly 240 to 400 g/m²; weight matters less than the coating and the stretching, which is why every canvas is stretched by hand and tested for harmful substances.
Can canvas prints be framed after printing?
Yes. The simplest route is to choose a Premium floating frame in the configurator — black matte, white, vintage silver, oak vintage flair or walnut flair, made from 100% recycled ocean plastic — so the canvas arrives framed. Can I hang a canvas print in a bathroom?
In an ordinary family bathroom, yes — keep it off the wall directly above the bath, out of the shower spray, and run the extractor fan. Canvas is a polyester weave stretched over a wood frame, so repeated steam makes both expand and contract and can slacken the stretch over the years. For a wet room, or a bathroom with no ventilation, an acrylic photo print or an aluminium photo print copes with humidity far better.
Can I hang a canvas print above a radiator?
Yes, with a gap. Leave 30 cm or more between the top of the radiator and the bottom of the frame, so rising heat is not drying the canvas and the wood directly — over a few winters that is what slackens a stretch. Avoid the wall above a radiator that runs all day, and avoid hanging in direct sunlight for the same reason. Our solvent-free HP Latex inks stand up to heat better than solvent inks, but no print likes a constant updraught.
What is in the box when my canvas print arrives?
The canvas itself, printed, hand-stretched and stapled onto its real wood frame and packed ready to hang — nothing to assemble and nothing to unroll. A hanger set is not included as standard: you can add one in the shopping cart for a small extra charge, or fit your own sawtooth hanger for a small canvas and D-rings with cord for a large one.
