This is the widest canvas we make. At 120 x 60 cm a panorama stops being a photograph on the wall and starts behaving like a window - which is exactly the point, and why this format ends up above sofas in rooms where the owners want the sea, or the city, or the hills they walked in.
Above a three-seater sofa, where its width matches the furniture and its shallow height leaves the wall feeling open. Over a long sideboard or a run of low shelving. In a room with a low ceiling, where a wide, shallow canvas makes the wall read as broader than it is.
A 2:1 crop at this size shows everything. Soft focus at one end, a leaning horizon, a stitching seam in a phone panorama where somebody walked through the frame - all of it becomes visible. Open the file at 100% on a large screen and pan across it before you order.
Around 4724 x 2362 px, about 11.2 megapixels. Genuine panorama files usually clear this easily on width; the risk is height. If you crop a standard photo to 2:1 to reach this size, you will be asking a lot of the remaining pixels.
Both frame fixings, proper wall anchors, and a level. Measure up from the sofa rather than down from the ceiling - the bottom edge should sit about 20 to 25 cm above the back cushions so the two pieces relate to each other.
| Compared with | How it differs |
|---|---|
| 100x50 | About 70% of the area with an identical 2:1 crop - the same file, no reframing. |
| 120x80 | Same width, 20 cm taller, 3:2. More wall covered for £10 more, but it loses the panoramic look. |
| 60x30 | Exactly a quarter of the area with the same crop. The small version of this canvas. |
The mantelpiece size in the same shape is the 80x40 canvas print. Prefer to browse the whole range before you commit? Every format, edge design and frame option is on our canvas prints page.

Yes. At 120 cm it matches our 120 x 80 cm canvas for width but is 20 cm shallower, which gives it the panoramic look.
Yes, though check the height of the file after cropping to 2:1 - that is usually the limiting factor rather than the width.
47.2 x 23.6 inches.
120x60 and 120x80 both measure 120 cm across. 120x60 is the shallower of the two and gives the panoramic proportion.
Upload your panorama, pick your edge design, and we will have it hand-stretched and on its way within 24 hours.
