At a metre wide and half a metre tall, the 100 x 50 cm canvas is the panoramic size that finally looks like the view you were standing in front of. It is also the shape that solves the wall above a bed - wide enough to match a double headboard, shallow enough to leave clear space between the canvas and the pillows.
Above a double or king headboard, where a tall canvas would sit uncomfortably close to where your head goes. Over a three-seater sofa as an alternative to 120 x 80 cm if the wall is short on height. Along a hallway, where you read it as you walk rather than stand and look at it.
Leave 25 to 30 cm between the top of the headboard and the bottom of the canvas. Any closer and the two merge into one block; any further and the canvas drifts up towards the ceiling and loses its connection to the bed.
About 3937 x 1969 px, roughly 7.8 megapixels. As with all our 2:1 formats, height is the constraint rather than width - a stitched panorama gives you thousands of pixels across but sometimes surprisingly few from top to bottom once the horizon has been levelled.
Long, wide canvases are unforgiving of thin printing: a gradient across a metre of sky is where banding shows up. HP Latex inks lay down enough density to keep those transitions smooth, and the canvas is hand-stretched so tension stays even across the full width.
| Compared with | How it differs |
|---|---|
| 80x40 | About 64% of the area with the same 2:1 crop. Suits a mantel rather than a bed. |
| 120x60 | Around 1.4 times the area, still 2:1. For a three-seater sofa rather than a bed. |
| 120x80 | Covers more wall but is 30 cm taller, which crowds the space above a headboard. |
For a single bed or above a door, the 60x30 canvas print is the smaller panorama. Prefer to browse the whole range before you commit? Every format, edge design and frame option is on our canvas prints page.

A double at 135 cm or a king at 150 cm. For a single bed, 60 x 30 cm or 80 x 40 cm is a better match.
Yes, both are exactly 2:1, so the crop is identical and you can switch between them without reframing.
39.4 x 19.7 inches.
100x50 if you want a panoramic shape with clear space above the pillows, or 120x80 if the wall is tall enough to carry it.
Upload your panorama, pick your edge design, and we will have it hand-stretched and on its way within 24 hours.
